Mythbusters, Episode 2

September 10th, 2017 by Anthony Trask

Pastor Anthony busts some myths about door knockers, cults, and the first American-made religions.

John 8:31-32
So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Acts 17:10-12
The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived they went into the Jewish synagogue. Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so. Many of them therefore believed, with not a few Greek women of high standing as well as men.

Fire-Starters, Part 1- Series Launch

May 8th, 2016 by Anthony Trask

Pastor Anthony opens up our new sermon series on life and death, and the power of the tongue.

Proverbs 18:21
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.

Proverbs 16:24
Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.

Proverbs 17:22
A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Ephesians 4:29
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

Matthew 12:34
You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

James 1:19
Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;

James 3:6-10
And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.

James 3:11-12
Does a spring pour forth from the same opening both fresh and salt water? Can a fig tree, my brothers, bear olives, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a salt pond yield fresh water.

Matthew 12:36-37
I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.

Why do people hate church so much? Lots of reasons, actually. We’ll be taking a three week look at some of these reasons, looking at what the Bible has to say, how we can confront these things, and how we can create a church that is exciting, meaningful, and powerful to be a part of.

Oh No She Didn’t

July 15th, 2014 by Anthony Trask

People today would try to tell you that the Bible minimizes the role of women in society, or encourages the oppression of them- They must not be reading the same Bible! In fact, the Bible talks a lot about women, and women are some of the Bible’s biggest-strongest-bravest “heroes…” often stepping up with strength, power, and courage where men would not.

Without the Bible and Christianity, the role of women in the “Western world” still may look much more like the “Eastern world” filled with repression, face coverings, and little to no rights. It is because of our faith that women, in this nation at least, have many of the rights they “rightfully” have today.

As Bible-Believing Christians, we believe that women are equal in value and worth to men, and equally bare and complete the image of God within humanity, but that women have different God given roles than that of men within society and the Church.

During the last weekend in July, and the first two weekends of August, we explored the lives of some very interesting women in the Old Testament, and discovered what lessons of faith and boldness we (both men and women) can learn from their amazing stories.

Living Faith

May 25th, 2014 by Anthony Trask

Romans 12:9-21 is a lesson for the Christian in “Doing Life Right.” We want to know how to Live-Out our Faith, not just simply possess it. We want to know, not how to just survive, but to thrive in Christ, by the power of His Spirit.

During the 5 weekends in the month of June, we examined these 13 verses which describe to us the ” Marks of The True Christian.”
